The Red House Piccola S/SSH is a compact S-style guitar handcrafted in Japan, combining familiar traditional construction with Red House’s distinctive approach to feel and playability.
Built with an alder body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, the Piccola uses a slightly shorter 641 mm / 25.25" scale together with a 9.5" fingerboard radius and 41.1 mm nut width. The result is a subtly more compact playing feel without moving into short-scale territory.
This example features an SSH configuration with Red House Original pickups, offering traditional single-coil character together with the additional output and versatility of a bridge humbucker.
Finished in Heavy Aged Black, the extensive ageing gives the instrument the appearance and feel of a well-played guitar rather than a pristine new instrument. At 3.27 kg, it remains comfortably weighted for an S-style guitar.
The original tuners have been replaced with GOTOH Magnum Lock locking tuners, providing improved string security and convenient string changes.
Handcrafted in Japan by Red House Guitars.
