Welcome to Black Crane (“Black Crane”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).

By accessing our website, purchasing products, or engaging with our services, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.

Product Availability

Many products offered by Black Crane are produced in limited quantities, handcrafted, allocated, discontinued, or sourced directly from Japan.

As such:

  • Product availability may change without notice

  • Certain products may be available on a preorder basis

  • Some items may be allocated in limited quantities by manufacturers

  • Natural variations in wood grain, finish, colour, and weight may occur between instruments

We make every effort to ensure product information and images are accurate. Minor variations may still occur.

Pricing

All prices listed are in Singapore Dollars (SGD) unless otherwise stated.

Prices may change without prior notice due to:

  • Currency fluctuations

  • Manufacturer pricing revisions

  • Shipping and import costs

  • Availability changes

Black Crane reserves the right to cancel orders arising from pricing errors or inaccuracies.

Orders & Payment

Orders are considered confirmed only after payment has been successfully received.

We reserve the right to:

  • Decline or cancel orders

  • Request additional verification for high-value purchases

  • Refuse suspicious or fraudulent transactions

Accepted payment methods may include:

  • Credit / Debit Cards

  • PayNow

  • Atome

  • Bank Transfer

  • Other payment providers listed at checkout

Preorders & Special Orders

Certain products may be offered as preorder or special-order items.

Estimated arrival dates are provided in good faith but remain subject to:

  • Manufacturer production schedules

  • Allocation availability

  • Shipping delays

  • Customs clearance

  • Circumstances outside our control

For preorder items:

  • Deposits are generally non-refundable

  • ETA dates are estimates only

  • Full payment may be required before shipment or collection

  • Cancellation requests may be subject to administrative or restocking fees

If a manufacturer discontinues or is unable to fulfil an order, customers will be informed accordingly.

Shipping & Collection

We ship both locally and internationally where available.

Customers are responsible for:

  • Ensuring shipping details are accurate

  • Any import duties, taxes, or customs fees imposed by destination countries

  • Compliance with local import regulations

Once an item has been handed over to the courier, delivery timelines are outside our direct control.

For self-collection orders, customers may be asked to verify identity upon pickup.

Returns & Exchanges

Due to the nature of musical instruments and boutique products, all sales are generally final unless otherwise stated.

Returns or exchanges may only be considered in cases involving:

  • Incorrect items shipped

  • Major defects not caused by misuse

  • Shipping damage reported promptly upon receipt

Customers must contact us within 48 hours of receiving the item if there are any issues.

Returned items must:

  • Be in original condition

  • Include original packaging and accessories

  • Show no signs of misuse, modification, or accidental damage

Black Crane reserves the right to reject returns that do not meet these conditions.

Used / Preloved Instruments

Used, vintage, consignment, or preloved items may display signs of age, wear, modification, cosmetic imperfections, or ageing consistent with their condition.

Such items are sold on an “as-is” basis unless otherwise stated.

Customers are encouraged to review all descriptions and photographs carefully before purchase.

Warranty

Warranty coverage varies depending on the manufacturer, distributor, and product type.

Some items may carry:

  • Manufacturer warranty

  • Local shop warranty

  • No warranty coverage

Consumable items such as strings, picks, cleaning products, and accessories are generally not covered under warranty.

Damage caused by:

  • Improper handling

  • Humidity or environmental conditions

  • Accidental impact

  • Modification or unauthorised repair

  • Normal wear and tear

is not covered.

Instrument Care & Environmental Conditions

Wood instruments are naturally sensitive to environmental conditions including temperature and humidity.

Customers are responsible for maintaining proper care and storage conditions.

Black Crane shall not be liable for issues arising from:

  • Dryness or excessive humidity

  • Cracking or finish checking

  • Neck movement due to climate

  • Improper storage or transport

We strongly encourage proper humidification and regular maintenance.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted under Singapore law, Black Crane shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential losses

  • Delays beyond our reasonable control

  • Courier-related damage or delays after dispatch

  • Loss of income, business, or opportunity arising from product use

Our maximum liability shall not exceed the original purchase amount paid.

Intellectual Property

All website content including logos, photographs, product descriptions, graphics, and branding remains the property of Black Crane unless otherwise stated.

Unauthorised reproduction or commercial use is prohibited.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Singapore.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
