A true acoustic icon, the Martin D-28 has long been regarded as the benchmark against which dreadnought acoustics are measured. Revered by generations of musicians, its rich, balanced voice and exceptional versatility have made it one of the most influential acoustic guitars ever built.
This 2017 D-28 Reimagined combines Martin's traditional craftsmanship with a number of modern refinements, including forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing for increased responsiveness, enhanced resonance, and greater dynamic range.
The solid Sitka spruce top pairs beautifully with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, producing the unmistakable D-28 sound — deep, authoritative bass, clear mids, sparkling trebles, and impressive projection. Equally at home in the studio, on stage, or in the living room, it is a guitar that rewards both delicate fingerstyle playing and powerful strumming.

Condition
This guitar remains in excellent overall condition and has clearly been very well cared for throughout its life.
The neck is straight, the frets show minimal wear, and the instrument plays beautifully with the rich, mature tonal character that Martin enthusiasts seek.
There is a small area of minor cosmetic finish separation visible along the edge of the bridge (pictured). The bridge itself remains firmly seated and structurally sound with no signs of lifting or instability.
Aside from this minor cosmetic detail, the guitar presents exceptionally well for its age.
Additional Note
A small piece of history accompanies this D-28. The guitar was loaned to Taiwanese singer-songwriter Yan Jue for a concert appearance in Singapore, and the original Martin hard case remains signed by the artist.
While the guitar is being offered on its own merits as an excellent example of a 2017 D-28, the signed case serves as a unique reminder of its journey and previous stage use.
Black Crane Notes
The D-28 needs little introduction. It is one of those rare instruments that remains relevant regardless of era, genre, or playing style. Powerful yet refined, familiar yet inspiring, this 2017 example offers everything players love about a Martin dreadnought, with the added responsiveness of the Reimagined Series specifications.
