The KarDiaN Chloroform "ADD CBF" expands the transparent, bluesy character of the original CHCl3 Chloroform with KarDiaN's Clean Blend & Clean LPF (CBF) circuit.
The standard Chloroform is designed around clarity, glass-like overtones and just enough compression and midrange colour to give the sound character without overwhelming the natural voice of your instrument.
With ADD CBF, KarDiaN takes that idea further by allowing a carefully controlled portion of the original clean signal to be blended back into the overdrive.
ADD CBF – Clean Blend & Clean LPF
Rather than simply mixing a full-range clean signal with the effect, ADD CBF gives you independent control over the clean side through Blend, Clean-LPF and Clean-Vol controls.
The Clean-LPF (Low-Pass Filter) allows you to reduce the higher frequencies of the clean signal before blending it with the overdrive. This lets the clean side contribute body and low-frequency information without unnecessarily competing with the character of the effected signal.
Together, the three controls allow you to fine-tune how much of your instrument's original response remains alongside the Chloroform overdrive.

Black Crane Notes
The ADD CBF version isn't simply a Chloroform with a conventional clean blend.
The separate Blend, Clean-LPF and Clean-Vol controls let you shape what the clean signal contributes before it is mixed back into the overdrive. In particular, filtering the clean side can restore body and low-end definition without having the entire clean signal compete with the Chloroform's overdrive character.
It's a clever extension of what already makes the Chloroform interesting: maintaining clarity and the personality of your instrument while still adding colour.
