Spring 2026 Limited Edition Sakura Guitar
A special limited-edition model for Spring 2026, this Sakura Guitar from the STD Series captures the fleeting beauty of Japan’s cherry blossom season through both its visual design and tonal character.
Crafted using genuine Japanese Sakura wood, the instrument reflects the philosophy of expressing the elegance of cherry blossoms not only aesthetically, but also sonically — fully embracing the unique charm and warmth associated with Sakura tonewoods.
Moonlit Sakura Gradient Finish
This model features a striking night sakura-inspired gradient finish, designed to evoke cherry blossoms gently swaying beneath the moonlight.
Contrasting the lighter daytime sakura finish found on its companion model, this version incorporates subtle pink pearl highlights layered across the darker gradient, creating the impression of cherry blossoms drifting through the night air beneath a shimmering evening sky.
The result is a finish that feels distinctly atmospheric, elegant, and unmistakably Japanese in character.
Yamazakura Back & Sides
The back and sides are crafted from domestically sourced Yamazakura (Japanese Wild Cherry).
Known for its exceptional hardness and stability, Yamazakura produces a rich low-mid response while retaining the sweet and refined tonal character unique to Sakura wood. The combination offers warmth, clarity, and a naturally balanced resonance.
Traditional Japanese-Inspired Design
Continuing the artistic direction seen in recent Sakura models, the headstock features an elegant illustration of a woman holding a traditional Japanese umbrella.
Rendered in a brush-stroke style reminiscent of Japanese ink painting, the design reinforces the instrument’s distinctly Japanese aesthetic and complements the flowing cherry branch motif inlaid across the fingerboard.
Through the use of multiple inlay materials and carefully considered detailing, the guitar expresses a strong sense of traditional Japanese artistry and atmosphere.
34 Semi-Forward Shifted Bracing
This model incorporates Headway Master Builder Yasuo Momose’s proprietary 34 Semi-Forward Shifted Scalloped X Bracing system.
Inspired by the internal bracing structure of a vintage 1934 acoustic guitar, the design positions the X-brace slightly closer to the soundhole to enhance low-end response and overall resonance. Compared to a traditional forward-shifted design, the brace placement is adjusted approximately 5mm closer to the bridge, balancing tonal richness with long-term top stability.
The result is a warm, open, and highly responsive acoustic character with impressive depth and projection.
