Headway HF-SAKURA SUMMER'26/ATB
For 2026, Headway's Sakura series takes inspiration from “Summer Fireflies and Sakura” — bringing together two fleeting symbols of Japanese beauty in a single instrument.
Inspired by fireflies appearing along the rivers of Nagano on a summer evening, the design depicts glowing fireflies drifting among cherry blossoms beneath a deepening night sky. Luminous details throughout the guitar softly come to life in low light, adding another dimension to the artwork.
Sakura, Tamo & Summer Light
A Sitka Spruce top is paired with Yamazakura back and sides with a three-piece Flame Tamo centre, combining traditional Japanese tonewood with beautifully figured timber.
The gold holographic treatment across the back catches the light differently from every angle, echoing the shimmer of fireflies reflected on water.
The theme continues through the ebony fingerboard, headstock and pickguard, with intricate firefly and sakura motifs. A specially designed soundhole cover depicting a woman with a traditional Japanese umbrella completes the story.
ATB Construction
Beyond the artwork, this remains very much a player's instrument.
Headway's latest Extra Slim U Grip is paired with a carbon-reinforced High Strength Neck for improved stability and response, while the Semi Forward Shifted Scalloped X bracing provides the balance and projection expected from Headway's ATB series.
A factory-installed LR Baggs Anthem SL makes this example ready for both stage and acoustic use.
