Inspired by the refreshing beauty of a Japanese summer, the HF-SAKURA'26/STD Summer is a limited edition model created for the 2026 Deviser Dealer Convention. Building upon Headway's celebrated Sakura Series, this year's Summer Sakura introduces a completely new interpretation of the theme, combining cool blue gradients, shimmering pearl finishes, and traditional Japanese artistry.
Professionally equipped with an LR Baggs Anthem SL pickup system, allowing the HF-SAKURA'26/STD Summer to move effortlessly from intimate acoustic settings to stage and live performance environments. Widely regarded as one of the most natural-sounding acoustic pickup systems available, the Anthem SL preserves the guitar's organic character while providing reliable amplified performance.
The result is a guitar that feels both elegant and dreamlike, capturing the atmosphere of summer nights, fireworks, and starlit skies.
Summer Sakura Design
Unlike previous Sakura models that focused on spring blossoms, the HF-SAKURA'26 Summer draws inspiration from the cool and tranquil beauty of summer in Japan.
Its striking blue gradient finish is enhanced with a subtle pearl coating that shifts beautifully under changing light, creating an almost ethereal appearance. The finish evokes clear summer skies and the gentle glow of evening light, making this one of the most distinctive Sakura models to date.
Exclusive Headstock Artwork
The headstock features a special illustration depicting a woman holding a traditional Japanese umbrella beneath a summer night sky illuminated by fireworks and stars.
This exclusive artwork was created specifically for the Summer Sakura model and adds a distinctly Japanese character that sets it apart from conventional acoustic guitars.
Sakura Fingerboard Inlays
Delicate cherry blossom petal inlays decorate the fingerboard, providing a subtle visual reference to the Sakura theme while maintaining practical position marker visibility for everyday playing.
White Pearl Sakura Pickguard
A signature feature of the Sakura Series, the cherry blossom-shaped pickguard is crafted from white pearl material that complements the cool blue finish beautifully. The result is a bright and refined appearance that perfectly matches the summer-inspired aesthetic.
Japanese Yamazakura Back & Sides
The back and sides are constructed from Japanese Yamazakura (Mountain Cherry), a tonewood harvested within Japan.
Known for its dense structure and focused low-mid response, Yamazakura produces a distinctive tonal character that combines clarity and projection with the sweet, musical voice for which cherry wood guitars are renowned.
Paired with a solid Sitka Spruce top, the HF-SAKURA'26 Summer delivers a balanced, articulate sound with excellent note separation and warmth.
34 Semi Forward Shifted Scalloped Bracing
The guitar features Headway's renowned 34 Semi Forward Shifted Scalloped X-Bracing, derived from extensive research conducted by Master Builder Yasuo Momose on pre-war 1934 vintage guitars.
By positioning the X-brace slightly closer to the soundhole than traditional bracing patterns, the design improves bass response and overall resonance. Compared to a fully forward-shifted design, the bracing sits approximately 5mm closer to the bridge, providing additional top stability while retaining impressive volume and responsiveness.
