Inspired by one of the most distinctive Japanese overdrive circuits of the 1980s, the Finding That Tone JAPAN 1986pays tribute to the legendary TS10 and its smooth, melodic take on the classic mid-focused overdrive sound.
At its heart is a carefully recreated circuit featuring NOS Toshiba 1S1588 diodes, vintage-spec capacitors, and a JRC4558D op-amp, preserving the warm, touch-sensitive clipping and characteristic midrange response associated with the original.
Each pedal is handcrafted in Spain and individually wrapped in authentic Japanese fabric, making every piece subtly unique. Its custom enclosure echoes the familiar silhouette of the original while adding modern upgrades including relay-based true bypass and top-mounted jacks.
