A limited-production Edwards E-FV-VINTAGE in Antique Natural has arrived at Black Crane.
Based on the E-FV-LTD platform, this version features a full lacquer finish construction — giving the instrument a more open, resonant character with exceptional responsiveness.
Built with a mahogany body and neck, paired with a rosewood fingerboard, the ultra-thin lacquer finish allows more of the wood’s natural voice to come through, delivering clarity and warmth without excessive compression or muddiness.
Like many vintage-inspired lacquer instruments, the finish is intentionally thin and delicate. Over time, it may naturally develop checking or fine cosmetic lines from environmental changes and regular use — part of the character often associated with traditional lacquer-finished guitars.
Feel & Build
The slim neck profile and lightweight 2.66kg body make this an exceptionally comfortable instrument to handle, whether seated or standing.
Outfitted with high-precision Japanese hardware throughout, the build reflects the careful attention to detail Edwards is known for in its limited-production models.
Pickups & Tone
Loaded with a Seymour Duncan SH-55n (neck) and SH-55b (bridge) set — better known as the Seth Lover pickups.
Developed alongside Seth Lover himself, the original designer of the vintage PAF humbucker, these pickups are known for their open response, vintage warmth, and natural dynamics.
The result is a lively, articulate tone that pairs especially well with the resonance of the full lacquer construction.
